OzUBEX Industry Transformation Center Inaugurated at Our Campus

Özyeğin University has taken another visionary step centered on the transformative impact of digitalization on industry. On May 30, 2025, the OzUBEX Industry Transformation Center was officially inaugurated at our Çekmeköy Campus. The Center was founded as part of the project “Digital Transformation of SMEs in Türkiye through the Establishment of an Industry 4.0 Center of Excellence.” The project is jointly funded by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology under its Competitive Sectors Program and led by Özyeğin University in collaboration with BEYSAD.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır, the Minister of Industry and Technology, Prof. Orhan Aydın, and distinguished public officials. The Center aims to guide and accelerate the digital transformation processes of SMEs in the manufacturing sector, with a particular focus on the white goods industry. Designed to provide support across a wide range of domains—from training and consultancy to R&D, prototyping, and testing — OzUBEX stands out as a flagship example of university-government-industry collaboration.

In his opening speech, Özyeğin University President Prof. Barış Tan stated, “As an entrepreneurial research university with a high global impact, we see it as our responsibility to prepare not only our students but also our industry for the future. With the inauguration of the OzUBEX Industry Transformation Center today, we aim to create a sustainable competitive advantage both on a local and global scale.”

To date, Özyeğin University has undertaken over 800 projects, with 450 of these realized through industry collaborations. The OzUBEX Industry Transformation Center seeks to elevate this expertise to new heights with a special focus on Industry 4.0 initiatives.
